Magna International plans to spend $48m (€43.2m) on a new facility in Novi, Michigan, US, for its seating division. 3 July 2015
Specialty chemicals group Borealis and plastics distribution firm Nexeo Solutions have announced an extended link-up to target the rigid and flexible packaging and fibre market, as well as the automotive, healthcare and infrastructure industries. The new Borealis distribution strategy will target growth in key European regions such as Germany, France, Benelux, UK, and enable what it called “continuous improvement in service”. 1 July 2015
The Federal German Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) announced on 24 June that it has fined five producers of automotive acoustic parts a total of €75m for having entered into price fixing arrangements. One of the companies affected is the Autoneum Germany subsidiary in Roßdorf of the Swiss company Autoneum (former Rieter Automotive), which stated on 24 June that it had been fined €29.5m by Bundeskartellamt.

Benecke-Kaliko has announced it has started work on a new 7,000 square metre automotive foils production facility next to its existing plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The company is investing €11.4m in the venture. 12 June 2015

Barcelona-headquartered automotive supplier Ficosa International is spending more than $50m (€44m) to build a new production center in Cookeville, Tennessee, the company announced. The new plant will include injection moulding, painting and assembly operations, primarily dedicated to producing rear-view mirrors, a news release indicates.  11 June 2015
