German manufacturer INA has unveiled plans to establish a new production facility in Svitavy, the Czech Republic.

German technical moulder Gealan Formteile is already planning to expand its injection moulding capacity at the components plant in Hungary it launched less than a year ago. Gealan, based in Oberkotzau, Germany, invested around €2m in a project to establish the new automotive components and household products operation in Székesfehérvár that only started up last summer.

Three of the six new plants that automotive moulder Plastic Omnium plans this year will be in China, part of a broader push it’s making in Asia, where it will locate 12 of the 20 new facilities in its near-term investment plans. The company said that 2014 sales in its automotive division rose 4.9% to €4.88bn, with profit up 8.6% to €401.7m. While European auto sales revenue grew 7.4%, and it said performance in the UK and Germany was “excellent,” much of its capital investment is targeting Asia, where it projects China’s vehicle market to grow 7.1% in 2015 to 23.2 million units.

Polish automotive parts maker Stomil Sanok is planning to invest more than PLN 20m (€4.8m) with the aim of expanding the product range of its plant in Sanok, in Poland’s southern region of Podkarpackie, reports local news agency PAP.

TransNav, of Michigan, US, and the Tilburg, Netherlands-based Rompa Group have established an injection moulding and thermoforming joint venture covering Europe and the Americas. Called TransRompa, the new company started manufacturing operations in a Rompa-run facility in Vyškov, the Czech Republic, and in an existing TransNav factory in Puebla, Mexico, in January.

France-based automotive supplier Faurecia has announced its 2014 annual financial results, reporting a 5.5% increase compared to 2013 from €18.03bn to €18.83bn. In Europe, product sales totalled €7.87bn in 2014 versus €7.41bn in 2013, an increase of 6.2%.

In its latest overseas acquisition, China’s Zhongding Sealing Parts is buying 100% of shares in German injection moulder Wegu Holding for €95m in cash. The payment will be wired by 31 March to DMB 1 Invest, which owns 90% of Wegu’s shares, publicly listed Zhongding said.
