Italy-based Megadyne group is in the process of adding another major component to its growing network. In a move aimed at building its specialty belting manufacturing and fabrication operations, Jason Industrial will purchase Belt Corp. of America from owner Bill Levensalor and his wife Maureen.

Ineos has moved into UK shale exploration with the purchase of BG Group’s 51% share of the shale section of a joint Petroleum Exploration and Development Licence (PEDL). The remaining 49% is owned by exploration company Dart Energy. No figures were disclosed.

A Central European company is cashing in on today’s renewed global fashion for collecting vinyl music records. Disc and packaging manufacturer GZ Media a.s. of Loděnice in the Czech Republic broke its own production record last year managing to press more than 10 million vinyl discs during 2013.

Sibgazpolimer, a joint venture between Russian oil giant Gazprom Neft and petrochemicals producer Sibur, has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in the Omsk polypropylene plant (Polyom) in southern Siberia. Russia's Titan Group, based in Omsk, invested €280m to launch the PP plant in April 2013 has already exceeded its nameplate 180,000 tpa capacity.

Italian plastics equipment major Sacmi Group’s offerings are getting a US identity. Sacmi has sold its plastics division to Kingsbury, a machinery firm based in Rush, New York, for undisclosed terms. The deal became official on 11 April, when Sacmi announced it.
