Hungary’s PVC flooring maker Graboplast Zrt. has acquired a new investor, local venture capital fund PortfoLion, through the sale of a 16% stake in the company, local news agency MTI reports.

Thailand’s SCG Chemicals has announced it has acquired 51% of the shares in the independent petrochemical institute Norner Holding from the current Norwegian owners, private equity fund E&M. The company states that the remaining 49% of the shares will be acquired by September 2015. The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.

Spanish and Mexican plastics industrialists met in Mexico’s capital last week, aiming to increase business and technological cooperation between the two countries. The 1-4 December talks took place at the Spanish Embassy’s trade office, organized by Spain’s Asociación Española de Industriales de Plásticos (Anaip) and Mexico’s Asociación Nacional de Industrias del Plástico AC (Anipac).

Swedish polymers group Hexpol is to acquire the rubber compounding division of Vigar Group, the Spain based plastics and rubber compounder and finished products maker, including a plant in Germany. The €19m deal to purchase the business from Vigar’s founding family is due to be completed, subject to approvals, by year end.
