Russian construction products manufacturer TechnoNicol Corporation plans to launch a new plant to produce insulation materials including extruded polystyrene (XPS) in Kazakhstan. The new €12.5m facility, to be established in the Karaganda region of central Kazakhstan, is scheduled to begin producing XPS in 2016.

Irish building material manufacturer Kingspan Group is acquiring the insulation business of Illinois, US-based Pactiv Building Products for $82m (€61.6m) as part of a strategic move to gain access into the US market for energy-efficient houses. Pactiv offers a wide range of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation and building wraps, which are manufactured in Winchester, Virginia, and sold under the GreenGuard brand.
