An unnamed investor from Tatarstan in Russia is reported to be behind plans to establish a plastics enterprise in the Russian occupied Ukrainian territory of Crimea.

Dávid Tibor and Balázs Ács, the two main shareholders of Hungarian construction materials maker Masterlast Kft., have announced they will put about 2.9% of their shares in the firm on sale, with a minimum price set at 208m forint (€1m). The aim is to finance the company’s expansion plans, according to Masterplast.

In 2014, Turkish manufacturers of plastic construction materials increased their sales by 1.6% to some $7.345bn (€6.528bn) in 2014, according to data released by Turkey’s plastics industry association PlasFed. The companies also managed to raise their export sales by 2.7% to $1.825bn (€1.622bn), the Istanbul-based association said in a statement.
