Polish manufacturer Grupa Kęty has unveiled plans to build a new production facility in Kęty, in Poland’s southern part. The investment is estimated to be worth about 150m zloty (€35.5m), the company said in a statement.

Australian packaging company Amcor is developing its own films that do not use Barex resin in the wake of an announcement its Barex supplier will close its factory in Lima, Ohio, in the US, early next year. In the meantime, the company is working on a deal with the supplier, Ineos Group, for a continued source of Barex-brand polyacrylonitrile (PAN) resin to meet its customers’ needs for the next three years.

Biaxially oriented PP film maker Treofan has completed a further upgrade of its extrusion line for TreoPore battery separator film at its facility in Neunkirchen, Germany. The upgrade allows production runs at a capacity “beyond the initial design of 20 million square meters annually”, said Treofan in a statement.
