Tokyo-based manufacturer of extruding machinery, Japan Steel Works (JSW), and Stork asset integrity management services have formed a partnership. JSW made the deal, it says, to formally set out the most appropriate framework conditions for smooth servicing on JSW extrusion equipment in Europe.

Taghleef Industries has entered an agreement to acquire Derprosa Film, based in Spain, which will add to Taghleef’s growing capacity for production of biaxially orientated polypropylene (BOPP) film. Taghleef, which is headquartered in Dubai, is buying Deprosa from UK investors 3i Group, Baring Private Equity and other minority shareholders for an undisclosed amount.

Germany-based Windmöller & Höllscher (W&H) unveiled its new generation blown film extrusion line at K 2013 in Düsseldorf last October. Nicknamed “Code E-24” before its K debut, the line was revealed as Varex II. The new Varex has sculptural surfaces, with few exposed parts and new W&H roundels, apparently inspired by the engineers’ fondness for a certain Bavarian automotive marque. The Varex II’s improvements are more than skin deep, however.
