Organisers of the Plast exhibition in Milan, Italy in May say more than 1,100 exhibitors from 40 countries have signed up for the event. This was the total up to 31 December 2011, and the final number is likely to be more as applications for stands have continued to be submitted in recent weeks. European Plastics News will publish an Italian plastics supplement to co-incide with the event.

The IKV plastics processing institute at the RWTH Rhineland Westphalia university in Aachen, Germany, is holding its 26th international biannual plastics technology colloquium on 7-8 March 2012. With more than 50 presentations in 14 sessions and visits to the laboratories, IKV says it is looking forward to attracting more than the 500 participants and 40 exhibiting companies who attended the 2010 event.

Poland-based plastic components manufacturer Wezi-Tec has recently unveiled plans to invest at least €4m in expanding its plant in Legnica, Poland. The company is a subsidiary of Germany’s plastic parts moulder Weber.
