German car components manufacturer Ideal Automotive is gradually creating up to 600 new jobs with the recent start up of a new 16,000 square metre production unit west of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. 27 February 2015
German technical moulder Gealan Formteile is already planning to expand its injection moulding capacity at the components plant in Hungary it launched less than a year ago. Gealan, based in Oberkotzau, Germany, invested around €2m in a project to establish the new automotive components and household products operation in Székesfehérvár that only started up last summer. 27 February 2015
German medical goods company Raumedic has chosen Mills River, North Carolina, for its first US manufacturing site and US headquarters. 27 February 2015
Three of the six new plants that automotive moulder Plastic Omnium plans this year will be in China, part of a broader push it’s making in Asia, where it will locate 12 of the 20 new facilities in its near-term investment plans. The company said that 2014 sales in its automotive division rose 4.9% to €4.88bn, with profit up 8.6% to €401.7m. While European auto sales revenue grew 7.4%, and it said performance in the UK and Germany was “excellent,” much of its capital investment is targeting Asia, where it projects China’s vehicle market to grow 7.1% in 2015 to 23.2 million units. 27 February 2015
The Serbian Privatisation Agency has launched the privatisation process for local plastics maker Krušik-Plastika. The agency says it is currently accepting offers to acquire a 93.36% stake in the manufacturer. 26 February 2015

TransNav, of Michigan, US, and the Tilburg, Netherlands-based Rompa Group have established an injection moulding and thermoforming joint venture covering Europe and the Americas. Called TransRompa, the new company started manufacturing operations in a Rompa-run facility in Vyškov, the Czech Republic, and in an existing TransNav factory in Puebla, Mexico, in January. 18 February 2015
France-based automotive supplier Faurecia has announced its 2014 annual financial results, reporting a 5.5% increase compared to 2013 from €18.03bn to €18.83bn. In Europe, product sales totalled €7.87bn in 2014 versus €7.41bn in 2013, an increase of 6.2%. 13 February 2015
China’s Chen Hsong Group, an injection moulding machinery manufacturer, is expanding its European sales activity following the opening of its European subsidiary Chen Hsong Europe in the Netherlands in May 2013. 11 February 2015
German engineering component manufacturer Franz Morat Group has significant plans to expand production at home and abroad, including the launch of a new plant in Poland this summer. 11 February 2015
In its latest overseas acquisition, China’s Zhongding Sealing Parts is buying 100% of shares in German injection moulder Wegu Holding for €95m in cash. The payment will be wired by 31 March to DMB 1 Invest, which owns 90% of Wegu’s shares, publicly listed Zhongding said. 11 February 2015
German medical device manufacturer B. Braun Medical has completed a fresh plastics moulding technology upgrade at its plant at Gyöngyös in north eastern Hungary. 6 February 2015
Austria-based Haidlmair has set up a North American manufacturing base by purchasing a majority stake in Canadian mould-maker Tesan Mould in Concord, Ontario. 5 February 2015
Samsonite-Hungária, a subsidiary of US baggage manufacturer Samsonite International, has seen a 20% jump in both sales and production at its plant at Székszard in southern Hungary. 3 February 2015
NPE 2015 marks the US debut of the GXH multicomponent machine. The “H” symbolises the arrangement of two or more parallel injection units. That horizontal layout means the melt is guided directly into the respective mould half, reducing the number of dead spots in the hot runner, according to the company. 29 January 2015
