West Pharmaceutical Services has announced a major investment in a new manufacturing facility in Waterford, Ireland, which has been described as “a massive boost” by Enda Kenny, the Irish Taoiseach (prime minister). The facility will initially produce packaging components for insulin injector cartridges and other packaging components. Following a later expansion, the plant eventually could employ 250 to 300 people and will involve a total investment in the range of €100m, the US group said.

Sabic has announced the use of its new polypropylene medical grade Sabic PP PCGR40 in a ultra clear PP liquid medicine dosage delivery system launched by pharmaceutical packaging company Bormioli Rocco.
