Energy saving sheet for supermarket chain

French supermarket chain Intermarché aims to achieve a 50 percent saving in electricity usage by converting to a new optimised acrylic (PMMA) sheet from Altuglas International for the LED lighting systems used on its store signage.

The new sheets – Altuglas’s Black & White LED System products - are being installed from this year on 1,000 Intermarché stores across France.

Altuglas sheet marketing manager Europe, Jean-Marc Biragnet says that the sheet provides sufficiently high diffusion to conceal the point source of the LED lamps while allowing the use of fewer LEDs without loss of brightness.
