BASF has declared force majeure on plasticisers made at its iso-Nonanol plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, due to a shortage of raw materials caused by a technical defect.

The plasticisers affected are Plastomoll DNA, Palatinol N, Hexamoll DINCH and Palamoll grades 652, 654, 656 and 858.

BASF says it hopes to restart production in Ludwigshafen within the next 14 days.
